FAQ

Common questions

Is 2FA worth the extra step every login?

Yes. The 5 seconds of typing a code is worth blocking 99% of account hijacks. Hijacked accounts can take weeks to recover - 2FA prevents that.

Can I disable 2FA later if I want to?

Yes, anytime in Settings. But strongly recommended you don't.

Which authenticator app is best?

Authy (free, has cloud backup) or Google Authenticator (free, no cloud). For Apple users, the built-in Passwords app supports 2FA codes too. All work fine with Instagram.

Does 2FA protect against phishing?

Partially. If you enter your password AND 2FA code into a fake page, attackers get both. Always check the URL before logging in. Better protection: use a password manager that auto-fills only on the real site.
